WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Vail Resorts relies on many employee groups to operate all of our businesses. There are different eligibility requirements based on employee classification to qualify for benefits. Below are the various eligibility groups. If you have a change in job, location or status within Vail Resorts, be sure to keep in mind the following eligibility criteria. International Properties are excluded from all eligibility groups.
Employees who are eligible for Blue Group benefits are:
- Year-Round Full-Time Employees who work an average of 30 hours per week
- Season-to-Season (S2S) Full-Time Employees who work an average of 30 hours per week and have applied for and been granted Season-to-Season Full-Time status (click for more details on eligibility and applying for S2S status)
Employees who are eligible for Yellow Group benefits are:
- Seasonal Full-Time Employees (without Season-to-Season status)
- Have more than 500 service hours
- Work an average of 30 hours per week
Employees who are eligible for Orange Group benefits are:
- Seasonal Full-Time Employees with LESS than 500 service hours
- Work an average of 30 hours per week
Employees who are eligible for Gray Group benefits are:
- Year-Round Part-Time employees who work less than 30 hours per week on a regular basis
- Seasonal Part-Time employees who work less than 30 hours per week
- Seasonal Part-Time employees who work less than 100 hours over the season
Eligible dependents include:
If you add dependents to your coverage, you will need to provide their date of birth and Social Security number. You may also need to provide proof of eligibility, such as birth or marriage certificate. If you are adding an eligible dependent who has not yet been issued a Social Security number, please contact Ask a Benefits & Perks Question here for instructions.
- Legal spouse
- Dependent children, up to age 26
- Children of your legal spouse, up to age 26
- Disabled children of any age
- Children for whom a court requires you to cover through a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO)

WHEN TO ENROLL
You have three chances to enroll:
- Within 30 days of being newly eligible (due to new hire, re-hire, seasonal full-time employees meeting the hours requirement or applicable transfer/promotion). Coverage begins on your date of hire or the 1st of the month following your eligibility date.
- Within 30 days of a qualifying life event. Examples include:
- Marriage
- Divorce
- Retirement
- Birth
- Death
- Loss of other benefits coverage
- Eligibility for other benefits coverage
- During the annual Open Enrollment period in the spring.
HOW TO ENROLL
Here are step-by-step instructions on enrolling online:
- Navigate to Benefits Enrollment.
- Click the Open button.
- Select the benefits options you wish to enroll in and follow the appropriate steps.
- Click Review Summary to review your elections.
- Click Update Elections to submit your elections.
- Click Final Submissions to complete the enrollment process.
- Confirm Your Elections – After you submit your elections, you should confirm your enrollment the following day:
- Log in to EpicEmployee.
- Click on My Benefits, then Benefits Summary. On this screen you will see your current elections. To confirm your future benefits elections, change the “My Benefits on” date to the first day your new benefit elections will be effective.
- Click Go and your future elections will appear.
